Recently Gnomes were discovered in the Lower Mountains and this club is proud to organise the
Australian Gnome Festival for the little fellers (and felleresses) on Australia Day.
Please visit the Australian Gnome Convention website to see the exploits of Comin, Goin, Travellin' and their mates! Stayin' unfortunately is (ahem) stayin' in Cambodia where he took a liking to the airport!!!
The 8th Annual Gnome Convention at Glenbrook Park, on Australia Day (January 26th ) 2012 is soon to be held and we are calling for all Cootamundra Gnomes, adopted at the 7th Convention to come and visit their mates! (You heard about the Great Gnome Rescue? No? Where were you - this exercise was on the TV, in international magazines and newspapers and on the radio world-wide - read all about it on our website)
From a Rotary perspective this Gnome Convention is a great PR exercise. It provides much publicity for Rotary in the National and Local press and does a lot to change the public perception of Rotarians as 'stuffy'. It increases the number of people who visit Australia Day in Glenbrook Park and provides much hilarity for our club members
Please visit http://australiangnomeconvention.com.au to find out more - there are heaps of photos including the 'winners' at the convention.
